Brazil's Saneago focuses on corporate governance ahead of IPO
Saneago, the water utility in Brazil's Goiás state, has begun a process to improve corporate governance standards in preparation for an upcoming IPO.
The board recently approved a plan to hold an IPO as a way to boost investments in water and sanitation projects.
Executives and board members are now being trained in corporate and capital market legislation, disclosure of information, internal control, code of conduct and the anti-corruption law, Saneago said in a statement.
Without disclosing details about the IPO, Saneago said it will hire Banco do Brasil Investimentos to coordinate the operation.
