Brazil's Stefanini to double Philippines workforce

Bnamericas

Brazilian IT multinational Stefanini plans to double its workforce in the Philippines to 2,000 employees by the end of 2017.

The goal of the expansion is to increase brand awareness and increase its footprint in the Asia-Pacific region, the company said in a statement.

Since it launched operations in the Philippines in 2011, the company said it has grown locally at an average rate of 25% per year.

The Philippines is considered to be a key market for Stefanini's business process outsourcing (BPO) operations, with most sales being its service desk software.

Stefanini is present in 39 countries and has over 500 international clients.

Last week, the group announced the acquisition Colombian nearshore ERP vendor Sysman for an undisclosed sum.
