Mexican state power firm CFE has launched an international tender to drill 20 geothermal wells on the Cerro Prieto geothermal field in Baja California state capital Mexicali, according to federal procurement website Compranet.
The wells would provide steam to the company's four Cerro Prieto power plants, which have total capacity of 720MW.
The company has scheduled a project meeting for March 11.
Bidding rules are available through April 9 with bids due April 15.
Works are scheduled to begin on June 5 and run 656 days.
