Petrobras Energía to up Genelba capacity 80MW

The Petrobras Energía subsidiary of Brazil's federal energy company Petrobras (NYSE: PBR) will add 80MW to the Genelba generator it controls in Argentina.

The subsidiary will spend US$80mn to add the new capacity, Argentina's state news agency Télam reported.

Genelba is controlled by the Pérez Companc group, which Petrobras Energía acquired in 2001.

Current capacity at Genelba is 670MW and a new 170MW Siemens turbine will be delivered in September, BNamericas previously reported.
