Works entail the installation of three 92MW Kaplan turbines, as well as three 100MVA generators. As a result of the project, Yacyretá's annual electricity output will increase by 1,700GWh, or 8.8%, and its installed capacity will expand by 9%.
Interested parties have until January 16 to submit offers for the civil works, and until January 30 to submit offers for the design, fabrication, and installation of electromechanical equipment.
EBY is a joint-venture between the governments of Argentina and Paraguay created to operate Yacyretá, which is located on the Paraná river.
Correction: A previous story published on September 14 incorrectly stated that the tenders would be launched in January 2018. The story should have said that offers are due in January 2018.
