The project is backed by a long-term PPA for US$49.5/MWh awarded through Argentina's recently concluded RenovAr Ronda 1.5 national tender.

Bicentenario will consist of 28 turbines, each with a capacity of 3.6MW, PCR said in a regulatory filing.

Oil production for PCR averaged just over 14,000b/d in 2015, while natural gas output exceeded 850,000m3/d, according to information on the company's website.

National oil company YPF is also developing the 200MW Manantiales Behr wind farm in Chubut province. Dow Chemical, meanwhile, signed an MOU earlier this year with the Río Negro province government to develop a 65MW wind project.
