Bolivia's vice president Álvaro García Linera announced the cabinet approved a supreme decree to finance two wind farms via a loan for 66mn euros (US$76mn).

The projects are Ventolera (24MW) and Warnes (21MW) in Tarija and Santa Cruz departments, respectively, the vice president's office said in a statement. Local counterpart investment will reach US$110mn.

The planned parks are part of state generator Ende Corani's wind project portfolio which includes El Dorado, San Julían and Qollpana III.


The country's central bank made a third disbursement to state power company Ende of 606mn bolivianos (US$87.6mn) for the Warnes thermoelectric plant's conversion to combined cycle, and a third disbursement to Ende of 34.2mn bolivianos for the Warnes-Las Brechas transmission line.


And Ende Transmisión launched bidding to design, build and put into operation the 500/230kV Carrasco substation as part of the 500kV Carrasco-Santivañez transmission project.
