YPFB made the announcement after signing a four-year contract with EPE, which operates a 480MW plant in Mato Gross state.
"The price we are agreeing to with EPE is 15% higher than the price we charge [Argentine state energy company] Enarsa," a YPFB release quoted hydrocarbons and energy minister (MHE) Luis Alberto Sánchez as saying.
"The price we charge Enarsa is US$3.93 per MMBTU and this interruptible contract with the private Brazilian company is for US$4.52 per MMBTU," he added.
"Deliveries today to Argentina and Brazil in the contractual range are of volumes below the maximum, which gives us the possibility of guaranteeing the entrance of new clients like the company EPE," YPFB president Guillermo Achá said.
