Statement from the Electric Corporation of Ecuador
Gonzalo Uquillas Vallejo, general manager of the Ecuadorian Electric Corporation, CELEC EP; and Gabriel Salazar, executive director of the Electricity Regulation and Control Agency, ARCONEL, signed an Inter-institutional Cooperation Agreement. The objective is to implement actions to improve the indexes in the processes and projects of regulation and control for the benefit of the Ecuadorian electricity sector.
Among the actions proposed in the agreement are the realization of research activities, technological development, knowledge transfer, according to the needs and strategic work plans of each of the Parties, through collaborative projects or the possible integration of mixed teams, as established by the respective specific agreements.
Mechanisms and instruments for the exchange of experiences, didactic material, infrastructure, equipment, human, technical, technological, computer, administrative, physical resources, publications, automated, technical, scientific, normative and methodological information will also be established.
The information will be used internally, without providing it to third parties, or using them for other purposes than those of improving or perfecting their own internal activities, unless written authorization reads the agreement.
For Eng. Gonzalo Uquillas, "It is important to strengthen this type of agreement that allows us to advance in a timely and determined manner in achieving the objectives of the country and the electric sector in particular."
The signing of this document is one of the instruments that marks a step of action to establish inter-institutional cooperation between two important public entities, such as ARCONEL and CELEC EP, in order to share and implement the best practices to achieve efficiency in the different processes.
