Costa Rica advances flagship hydro development

Plans to develop a hydroelectric project for the upper Savegre river basin in Costa Rica continue with the launch of a consultancy call.

Savegre is one of the country's flagship hydroelectric projects; other such projects include Diquís, Pacuare and Reventazón.

State power company ICE is seeking individuals to evaluate, analyze and design an asphalt core rockfill dam for the Savegre plant.

The 180MW complex would generate 700MWh/year and cost an estimated US$775mn.
