CPFL bolsters capacity with new substation

Brazilian power utility CPFL Paulista has announced the opening of its 4.1mn-real (US$2.05mn) Bofete substation in São Paulo state. The 6.25MVA facility will allow the company to meet rising demand over the next decade, CPFL Paulista said in a statement. It will attend to 4,884 customers with a capacity to absorb average consumption of 1.2GWh a month. "Investments in this substation reinforce the company's mission to provide sustainable and competitive energy solutions that integrate the community," CPFL Paulista president Hélio Viana said. CPFL Paulista is a subsidiary of CPFL Energia, whose portfolio includes an installed generation capacity of 2.31GW and a distribution network of 6.4mn customers.
