XM, operator of the National Interconnected System and administrator of the Wholesale Energy Market in Colombia, reports the level of reservoirs, water and generation, with closure as of June 30, 2018.
The aggregate level of electricity generation reservoirs was 78.5% of the useful volume, 11 points above the level reported in the previous month, which was 67.3%. In the analysis by region, in the East, the reservoirs are 94.4%, Antioquia 87.5%, Caribbean 83.6%, Valle 81.4% and Centro 58%. On average, the generation for June was 190 GWh / day, of which 86.11% originated with renewables (85.03% hydro, 1.00% biomass, 0.07% wind and 0.02% solar) and the remaining 13.89% with fuels non-renewable fossils.
For Jaime Alejandro Zapata Uribe, manager of the National Dispatch Center: "This month there was a recovery of the SIN reservoir, which was mainly due to reservoirs in the Oriente area, which increased by 34% compared to the previous month , this is normal behavior for this month, being the time of major contributions in this region of the country. For July, the aggregate reservoir is expected to close near the current value, which will allow the sector to continue to provide a secure service , reliable and affordable to users in the country. "
At XM, we contribute to improving the quality of life for Colombians.
