Enersis Latin America growth platform tops 11GW

Latin American energy holding company Enersis' (NYSE: ENI) projects under study total 11.4GW, according to a presentation from the Endesa Spain-controlled group.

The pipeline includes Chilean hydros HidroAysén (1.4GW, company stake), Los Cóndores (150MW) and Neltume (490MW), thermo Punta Alcalde (740MW) and wind farm Renaico (88MW).

The group's Peru projects include hydro Curibamba (188MW) and Brazil hydros Jamanxin (881MW) and Cachoeira do Caí (802MW), the latter two of which are being developed by a consortium as part of the 10.7GW Tapajós complex.

Enersis adds it expects approval of some generation projects in the coming months, and that 2013 and 2014 estimated hedged output reaches 73.8% and 68.2%, respectively.

The group's regional installed capacity at end-March hit 15.8GW led by Chile (5.57GW), Argentina (4.52GW), Colombia (2.91GW), Peru (1.77GW) and Brazil (987MW).
