IN BRIEF: Endesa CEO resigns

Spain's Endesa announced that Andrea Brentan, company CEO since 2009, submitted his resignation.

A company statement said the board of directors will meet on October 7 to accept the resignation and propose the appointment of José Damian Bogas as new chief executive. Bogas has been with Endesa since 1982 and held various senior positions.

The resignation follows Endesa's acceptance of an offer by Italy's Enel to acquire a 60.6% stake in Chilean power holding company Enersis.
