Peru's energy and mines ministry declared a "serious power deficiency" on the Ayacucho grid due to lack of transport capacity of transmission line L-6602 (Cobriza I - Cobriza II).
The official declaration takes effect on July 1 and will be withdrawn once the 220kV transmission line Friaspata-Mollepata becomes operational, the ministry said in a resolution.
Information from energy and mining investment regulator Osinergmin reveals that Consorcio Transmantaro requested pushing back commercial operations startup of Friaspata-Mollepata to March 2017 from December. The 91km line will act as the main link between the national grid and the Ayacucho system.
