Latin America power roundup
Panama's public services regulator Asep reported that the filling of embattled hydroelectric plant Barro Blanco's reservoir will run through August 3.
The filling is temporary and will allow testing of the plant and its connection to the national grid. The news was communicated to the Ngäbe Buglé indigenous community as part of agreements signed in August, the watchdog said in a statement.

Calls for bids to overhaul Honduras' 109MW hydroelectric complex Cañaveral and Río Lindo are expected in June, according to Oscar Álvarez Bonilla, a project official at state power company Enee.
For his part, Enee manager Jesus Mejía announced an "aggressive" plan to tackle service interruptions and losses through the installation of 16,000 meters within 45 days and expansion and construction of substations over 10-12 months, among other measures.

Colombia's energy and gas regulator CREG extended to July 19 a deadline to submit suggestions, comments and observations on a draft resolution to establish the payment methodology for power distribution on the national interconnected grid.
