Minem officializes the First Congress on electric cars in Peru

The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) made official today, through a Ministerial Resolution published in the official newspaper El Peruano, the event called "1st Congress of Electromobility," which will be held on September 6 in Lima, with the aim of promoting the exchange of information about the electric car industry.

The aforementioned event aims to contribute to a necessary exchange of information from all public and private institutions, and recognized experts in the international scenario, which will address the important steps that electromobility represents as one of the most effective solutions to eliminate the emission of CO2, reducing environmental pollution, among others.

n the recitals of the norm, it is indicated that, through Report N ° 021-2018-MEM-DGE-DNE, dated June 26, 2018, the General Directorate of Electricity, issued a favorable opinion to the officialization of said event, noting that it will contribute to the debate, the presentation of ideas and promote spaces for dialogue and proposals "regarding the application of electric vehicles that allows us to advance in the design of an application plan in our country".

As it is remembered, the Minem has been working on a regulatory framework to promote the entry and use of electric cars to the country; and as part of it, the possibility of implementing a program that grants an economic subsidy to promote the purchase of this type of vehicles is studied.
