Work at Bolivian hydro to resume

Bolivia's state power company Ende at month-end will resume construction of 203MW hydroelectric project Miguillas, according to José María Romay, general manager of Ende subsidiary, Corani.

Corani took over development of the US$447mn plant in La Paz department following the rescission of Corsán-Corviam's contract. Commercial operations startup is penciled in for 2019.

Romay said that his company will be responsible for 88% of works which will include tunnel boring and a dam, state news agency ABI quoted the official as saying.

Ende Transmisión will be responsible for the remaining 12% that consists of substations and transmission lines, he added.

Romay also said that Corani will take over management and O&M of the 120MW Misicuni hydroelectric project in Cochabamba department when it comes online, which is scheduled for August.
