Work begins on Mexico's La Bufa wind farm
Construction has begun on the La Bufa wind farm in Zacatecas state in northern Mexico.
The 130MW facility is being developed by Tijuana-based Mexico Power Group and will supply electricity to state utility CFE.
The wind farm, being built on a mountain range to the south of the state's namesake capital (pictured), will employ Gamesa turbines.
Mean wind speed in the area is 7.1mps, according to information on Mexico Power Group's website.
La Bufa will be the first power generation facility in Zacatecas, the state's economy secretary, Federico Borrego Iturbe, was reported as saying by news portal NTR.
