The Ontario-based company was the biggest winner in the country's latest supply auction, securing 290MW of new capacity both as a sole operator and as a partner with Spain's Solatio and Lavras Geração.
The five solar parks underway in the province will generate 82.5MW of power and were awarded in round 1.5 of the RenovAr Program.
The objective is to increase security, integrity, traceability and confidence in public information, the energy ministry said.
The local power trading chamber said the wind and solar prices were the lowest ever negotiated.
In March, wind energy became the principal source of power generation in the country, displacing hydro.
