The government plans to open 200 public works projects, including the Ichilo-Ivirgarzama divided highway and the offices of the Unasur regional organization, by mid-September, vice president Alvaro García Linera said.
The transportation sector is the area with the largest investment deficit, according to a consultancy.
With limited capacity to invest in infrastructure due to a tight fiscal situation, Brazil's government is trying to attract more players, including the private sector, to invest in the segment in the coming years.
The works in Tucumán province have been stalled since 2015. The contract is expected to be tendered next month and entails a total of 887km.
The move comes after the incoming transport minister said the mega project is only 20% complete.
