Venezuelan state-run telecoms operator Cantv expects to launch a second phase of the pilot test of its satellite TV services on June 6, the company said in a statement.
Cantv president Manuel Fernández said the new pilot phase will include homes, as the service was initially tested in community centers, Cantv said.
"The extended pilot will include 3,000 homes in Caracas, with an initial offering of 12 channels," Fernández said.
Cantv's DTH technology will be provided by the state-controlled Simón Bolívar satellite.
Fernández, who also serves as the country's deputy telecommunications minister, said tests on terrestrial digital TV would start June 6.
