Paraguayan state-owned telecoms operator Copaco has requested a license from telecoms watchdog Conatel to be able to operate IPTV services in 20 cities across the country, local paper La Nación reported.
Copaco commercial manager Nilton Amarilla said the IPTV service will be offered in a triple play package.
According to previous reports, Copaco's IPTV service will include 70 basic channels, as well as 10 high-definition channels. The firm expects the service to be commercially available in December this year.
Copaco offers fixed telephony and internet services. The operator also offers mobile services through its Vox subsidiary.
