Paraguayan state-owned telecoms operator Copaco expects to launch IPTV service on December 27, local press reported.
Copaco commercial manager Nilton Amarilla previously said that the IPTV service will be offered in a triple play package. The telco also plans to offer a video-on-demand (VoD) service.
The IPTV project required a total investment of approximately US$20mn, according to the report. Copaco expects to deploy 50,000 set top boxes by end-2012.
According to previous reports, Copaco's IPTV service will include 70 basic channels, as well as 10 high-definition channels.
Copaco offers fixed telephony and internet services. The operator also offers mobile services through its Vox subsidiary.
