Digital transformation driving IT consulting opportunities for DXC in LatAm
US IT consulting and services company DXC Technology is eying growth in Latin America in the financial services, logistics, transportation and healthcare verticals, Leonardo Mendoza (pictured), DXC's managing director for South Latin America, told BNamericas.
The company, which launched in April this year, created from the merger of Computer Sciences and the Enterprise Services business of HP Enterprise, is leveraging the presence of both companies in the region to offer IT consulting services in the areas of business process services, analytics, enterprise and cloud application security and mobility.
One of the main drivers of the company is to enable companies to transform digitally to see business outcomes.
In the areas of airlines and transport, the company is working on applications that enable passengers to share information about their journeys in order to help service providers improve on their services.
In the UK the company is helping Network Rail reduce paperwork and improve public safety.
"[We're seeking to help create a] public transport system that is proactive rather than reactive, a system that will reroute transport and drive real sea-change in the way the public is being served and how they get where they're going," the company's global CTO Michael Deittrick said in a recent interview with Smartrailworld.
According to Mendoza, 70% of flights on commercial airlines in Chile run platforms that are handled by DXC, some handling passenger safety, ticket reservations or infrastructure.
Likewise some 90% of payment transactions are managed via DXC, he said.
According to Mendoza, many companies are still confused with digital transformation and need to test different platforms to see what suits them best.
Strategic partners include: SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, ServiceNow, IBM, Workday and Salesforce.
"Our clients are eager to make investments in digital technology, but they also expect to see the immediate, tangible value it promises to deliver," he said.
Currently DXC is focusing on high growth countries in Latin America, namely Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica and Mexico.
