Brazilian telecom operator GVT has presented the packages through which it will commercialize GVT TV, after confirming the service will launch by October, the company said in a statement.
GVT is offering three different packages in its portfolio, with prices varying according to the number and type of channels included - Super HD, at a monthly cost of 59.90 reais (US$35), Ultra HD (89.90 reais) and Ultimate HD (129.90 reais). All three packages include HD channels, on-demand content and internet content customized for TV.
The operator emphasized that at the moment, the focus is on its current fixed-lined telephony and broadband customers, and that services will be extended to reach potential new clients later.
GVT TV is the first service of its kind to offer pay TV through a bundled IP and DTH technologies model.
The company also intends to add, in a near future, social networking content to its TV offering, enabling Facebook, Twitter and YouTube interactive applications.
Investments made to deploy GVT TV will come to 650mn reais (US$387mn), GVT chief executive Amos Genish said previously.
