Argentina ended July with more than 57.8mn mobile lines in service, up 5.9% compared to the same time last year, national statistics bureau Indec reported.
Mobile telephony traffic reached 6.36bn calls in July, climbing 25.5% compared to the same month a year ago.
Local fixed-line traffic during July reached 1.43bn calls, up 11.8% year-on-year, while domestic long distance increased 11.7% to 456mn calls.
Meanwhile, there were 34mn outgoing international long distance calls, surging 31.2%, for a total of 101mn minutes, up 15.6% compared to July 2010.
At end-July, 9.62mn installed fixed lines were in the country, inching up 1% from 12 months before. Public phones totaled 142,000, increasing 1.1%.
