Brazil is expected to have 10mn-15mn MVNO users in 2015, local press reported citing a study by international consultancy firm Europraxis.
The study estimates that the MVNO market in Brazil could generate revenues of 3.5bn reais (US$2.22bn) in 2015.
Brazilian telecoms services regulator Anatel approved MVNO regulation in November 2010, enabling different companies to sign MVNO agreements with local mobile telephony operators.
According to the study, total mobile telephony users in the country currently reach 202mn, with a prepaid penetration of some 80%.
Europraxis' study also said that currently only 1% of mobile telephony users in Latin America access the service through an MVNO scheme.
