Opera Software teams up with Terra to offer localized content in Latin America

Norwegian web browser designer Opera Software has signed an agreement with Hispanic portal Terra to offer premium content to users of the Opera Mini mobile browser and the Opera desktop browser all over Latin America, the former said in a statement.

Terra's content is currently available via the two browsers for Brazilian users, but will now be accessible for users in other Latin American countries as well.

Opera users can now access Terra's breaking news, sports, entertainment and technology, among other features.

The Terra website will be one of the pre-allocated sites on the Speed Dial start page in the Opera desktop browser.

"Opera's goal is not only to provide the best internet experience on any device, but also to provide the best localized content for our users," company CEO Lars Boilesen said.

The Opera Mini browser has more than 115mn active monthly users and 2bn daily page views. It works on more than 3,000 different mobile phone models, from basic feature phones to high-end smartphones.
