Israeli firm Orbit Communication Systems expects revenues from Latin America to experience double-digit growth this year, company marketing director Gabriel Racah told BNamericas, without providing hard numbers.
"Last year, we also experienced double-digit growth in the region, and we expect to maintain the double-digit growth in 2012," Racah said. "Latin America is an extremely important market for us. We are increasing our sales force there, and we are also expanding our customer support in the region."
"We're quite active in Latin America, particularly in the field of maritime satellite communication and airborne communication management systems," he said. In the maritime segment, Orbit already has several clients across the region.
Racah said the Latin American key markets for Orbit are Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Peru. "Brazil is the market which is experiencing a very significant growth" as increasing off-shore oil exploration activity presents good opportunities for Orbit's solutions, the executive said.
The company sells its solutions via a network of channel partners. Racah said Orbit is looking to expand its existing channel partner base across the region, particularly for telemetry and tracking solutions.
Orbit Communication Systems develops, manufactures and supplies communications equipment and solutions to serve airborne, maritime and ground applications.
The company's portfolio includes maritime satellite communications, tracking and telemetry systems, and communication management solutions.
