Brazilian telecoms company Primus Brazil has deployed carrier-grade softswitch MVTS II from Canadian firm Aloe Systems to boost wholesale network performance, according to a press release from the latter.
According to Primus Brazil CEO Eber Lacerda, with its billing functionality, MVTS II has replaced the separate billing and routing solutions previously used by the company. Lacerda said the solution also gave the carrier greater capacity and optimized its bandwidth usage.
Aloe Systems' softswitch is the core of Primus Brazil's network, handling 100% of its wholesale VoIP traffic. Primus Brazil has been upgrading its services with ALOE Systems and plans to continue the partnership on future projects, Lacerda said.
Primus Brazil provides broadband and dial-up services, domain name services, web advertising, hosting, colocation, e-commerce, virtual private networks (VPNs) and international long-distance services.
