US company ADDvantage Technologies Group posted third quarter revenues of US$8.7mn, down compared to US$13.3mn in the same period a year ago, the company said in its earnings statement.

In May 2011, the company acquired the net operating assets of Adams Global Communications, a purchaser and seller of cable television access and transport equipment, digital converter boxes and modems in the US, Canada and Latin America.

ADDvantage Technologies Group supplies the cable television industry with a line of new and used system-critical network equipment and hardware from leading manufacturers.

Canadian company Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM), maker of the BlackBerry smartphone, will hold its collaboration forum on September 13 at the Hilton Hotel in Argentine capital Buenos Aires, the company said in a statement.

During the event, the firm expects to show new products and applications.


Pay-TV service penetration in the Dominican Republic currently reaches 25-30% in the areas where it is offered, local telecoms regulator Indotel head David Pérez Taveras said.

The official said pay-TV services have a lot of room to continue growing in the country.

The Dominican Republic selected US digital TV standard ATSC in August last year.
