Spanish telecoms giant Telefónica (NYSE: TEF) has commercially launched Swiss mobile software company Myriad Group's Social Network Services as part of a five-year partnership to provide social networking to its 13 mobile operations across Latin America, Myriad said in a statement.

Customers of Movistar, Telefónica's brand name, can now access all of their social networks and messages via one mobile screen.

Telefónica currently serves more than 140mn mobile users in Latin America.

Hispanic media and technology company Pulpo Media has been ranked by consultancy comScore as the number one Spanish-language media services provider in the US, Pulpo said in a statement.

According to comScore's Media Metrix Hispanic Ad-Focus, Pulpo Media is ranked the number one media services provider online in Spanish, and number two for the Hispanic population in English.

According to the 2010 US Census, the Hispanic population rose to 50.5mn over the last decade. Hispanics now account for 16% of the total domestic population, and 11% of the total online population.

Pulpo Media offers advertisers online media, as well as a proprietary technology platform.


Fitch Ratings has withdrawn its AAA (Col) rating of Colombian telco UNE EPM given that the period of the rating ran out, Fitch said in a statement.
