Argentina's 2003-12 software sales jump 313%, government says

Software sales in Argentina expanded 313% during the 2003-2012 period, the country's industry ministry said in a statement.

Meanwhile, software exports surged 414% during the same period and the number of employees in the sector grew by 266%, according to the ministry's release.

Software sales reached over US$3.7bn last year.

By 2020, the local software and IT sector aims to reach sales of US$7.33bn and for exports to total US$2.96bn.

Argentine software and IT service exports are expected to expand by 16% in 2014 compared to 2013, local software and IT services chamber Cessi's VP Diego Berardo told BNamericas. Exports in 2013 reached US$900mn, according to the ministry's release.
