The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has certified Mexico's federal airport operator ASA to implement its training methodology for the local aeronautical and airport sectors, the transport and communications ministry (SCT) reported in a release.
This is the first time a Mexican training center has received an ICAO certification, enabling the country to impart training courses on aeronautical and civil aviation safety that are recognized internationally.
ASA is investing 35mn pesos (US$2.29mn) to launch its Trainair training center this year, in conjunction with ICAO, the release said.
Once operations start, Trainair will improve efficiency and safety in the sector by establishing and maintaining high training standards for local and international personnel.
