MOPC to launch first round of US$15mn hwy tenders

Paraguay's public works and communications ministry (MOPC) is preparing to launch the first round of international tenders by April for roadworks, part of a US$14.9mn investment, MOPC reported in a release.

The works will be financed by the Mercosur structural convergence fund (Focem).

The first works will be to repave the 9km Ñemby-San Lorenzo-Luque highway stretch, the 11km Luque-Limpio-Piquete Cue highway stretch, the 7km Luque-Aregua stretch, on Ruta 2, and the 9km Aregua-Patiño-Ypacaraí highway stretch.

Authorities expect to launch in June the tenders for the reconstruction of the 30km route between Pozo Colorado and Concepción and the paving of the Franco-Cedrales highway stretch, the repaving of stretches Ybycui-La Rosada and Ruta 1-La Paz, and the paving of the access roads to Ytakyry and San Alberto, as well as those of the Itacurubi-Valenzuela-Caballero highway stretch.
