ANI and consortium Estructura Plural Vías del Nus (Vinus) inked the contract valued at 2.5tn pesos (US$755mn), which calls for the design, finance, build, operate, and maintenance of the 158km-highway in Antioquia department. It includes construction and expansion of existing roadway, tunnels and rehabilitation and maintenance works.
Consisting of Colombian companies Enrique Davila Lozano, Mincivil, Latinoamericana de Construcciones (Latinco), Grupo Odinsa, Construcciones El Cóndor and SP Ingenieros, the Vinus group presented the project as a private initiative and will hold the concession for 30 years.
Works on the corridor will improve connectivity for the cities of Bello, El Hatillo, Porcesito and Cisneros, and lower travel time between Antioquia's production centers and ports on the Atlantic coastline.
