Parties interested in tenders for the concessions of Brasília airport and São Paulo state's Guarulhos and Viracopos airports can submit clarifications until January 13, Brazil's civil aviation agency Anac said in a release.
Requests can be made electronically, or through correspondence filed with the agency in Brasília, Anac said. All responses will be published on its website. More information, in Portuguese, can be found here
A simultaneous auction will be held for all three concessions on February 6 at the São Paulo stock exchange (Bovespa).
The eventual concessionaires will need to invest 2.8bn reais (US$1.51bn) in Brasília, 4.6bn reais in Guarulhos, and 8.7bn reais in Viracopos throughout their respective concession periods.
The minimum canon payment set for Brasília is 582mn reais, Guarulhos 3.4bn reais and 1.5bn reais for Viracopos, the release said.
The Brasília concession is set to last 25 years and the concessions of Guarulhos and Viracopos are for 20 and 30 years, respectively.
At least one member of each group submitting an offer must have a minimum of five years experience managing an airport with annual traffic of at least 5mn passengers.
The privatization is expected to help prepare the airports to handle the influx of tourists during the 2014 World Cup, being hosted in the cities of Brasília and São Paulo, among others. Concessionaires will have 18 months to complete World Cup preparation works stipulated in the contract.
Brazil's national airport authority Infraero will maintain 49% stakes in the airports to assist in their management.
