Grey cement production up 14% in 12 months to end-Nov

Grey cement production in Colombia grew 14% year-on-year to 10.7Mt in the 12 months to end-November, according to a release from the housing, cities and land ministry (Minvivienda).

In November alone, production hit 897,000t, up 10.4% compared with the prior-year month.

Grey cement shipments in the country saw a historic year-on-year increase of 13.2% to 10.3Mt in the 12-month period.

"Colombia's cement market continues to register positive results, in line with the dynamism of housing production, one of the most important variables in the construction cycle," said acting Minvivienda minister Julio Silva.
