Peru's Lambayeque regional government is planning a 26.7mn-sol (US$10mn) project to pave Bolognesi avenue in the city of Chiclayo, state news agency Andina reported.
Regional government head Humberto Acuña and Chiclayo mayor Roberto Torres are due to ink a cooperation agreement shortly to transfer management of the project to the Lambayeque administration, said regional infrastructure manager Fidel Ortiz.
Under the agreement, Chiclayo will also prepare a technical report for the initiative, which it will then submit to the regional government.
Work involves paving 4km of Bolognesi avenue between streets Leonardo Ortiz and Pimentel, as well as installing 256 domestic sewerage connections, and building sidewalks, curbs, and 10 culverts.
"This project has been delayed for many years, and will become a reality thanks to president Humberto Acuña and his government's decision to join forces with other authorities to develop the community," Ortiz was quoted as saying.
