Ecuador's transport and public works ministry (MTOP) has signed a contract with local firm Compañía Bueno & Castro to build an interchange in the city of Manta, in coastal Manabí province.
The project is budgeted at US$9.98mn and will take 360 days to complete, according to a release on the government's website.
Work involves building a six-lane 360m interchange, signage and additional safety features.
The project will improve connectivity between the city's port and airport, according to MTOP's zone 4 deputy secretary, Fernando Zambrano.
