ProInversión seeks consultants for Chinchero airport concession

Peru's private investment promotion agency ProInversión has issued a call for investment banks to act as consultants during the concession of southern Cuzco region's Chinchero international airport.

Offers are due to be presented on March 3 and ProInversión plans to announce a winner on March 7, state news agency Andina reported.

The awardee will be responsible for identifying the investment required for equipment and construction of the airport, performing a financial analysis of the concession and evaluating technical bids and concession documents.

The agency is due to award the contract to finance, design, build and operate Chinchero airport on June 15. Around 16 firms have expressed interest in bidding, according to ProInversión director Jorge León.

The airport concession involves building a new passenger terminal, including a runway and parking areas and requires an estimated US$379mn investment.

The concession has been set for a 30-year renewable term, with a limit of 60 years.
