Representatives from Argentina's metalworkers union UOM plan to request a 22% annual raise during upcoming negotiations, a union leader told BNamericas.
"The percentage is equivalent to the cost of living increase in the last year," the leader said.
The union expects to gain less ground in salary talks this year than in previous years considering the crisis that has been pummeling the sector in recent months, according to the leader.
Last year, UOM negotiated a 28% raise on basic salaries in addition to a bonus of 600 pesos (US$191).
The union will begin talks with sector employers on April 29.
