Brazil's primary aluminum production for the first nine months of the year was 591,200t, up 1.3% compared with the same period of 2015, industry association Abal reported.
Primary aluminum output in September rose 8% compared to the same month last year to 66,300t, the fifth consecutive monthly increase.
For full-year 2015, output totaled 772,200t.
Currently ranked nine among the world's largest aluminum producers, Brazil has dropped several places in the past few years in the global upstream segment. However, it is still a major player with an integrated chain that includes bauxite mining, alumina refining and primary aluminum production.
