IN BRIEF: Brazil pig iron production, exports drop

Brazilian pig iron production dropped 11.4% year-on-year to 20.7Mt in January to October, according to steel industry association IABr.

In October, pig iron output declined 8.2% to 2.23Mt. The country produced 25.1Mt over the past 12 months.

Exports of pig iron fell 21.2% to 1.79Mt in the first 10 months. In October, shipments abroad of pig iron dropped 36.7% to 101,100t, IABr said.
