Mexico, IDB offer LatAm energy innovation grant
Mexico's energy ministry (Sener) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) have invited proposals for innovative projects in energy sustainability for Latin America and the Caribbean with a US$200,000 purse for the winning idea.
The deadline for proposals is January 15, 2015, Sener said in a statement.
Proposals will be considered from consortiums led by a Mexican educational institution or research center in partnership with other Latin American countries, while individual proposals will be considered from all the countries of the region.
The IDEAS energy innovation competition supports projects in renewable energy, energy efficiency, biofuels and the expansion of energy access in rural areas. Since the competition's first edition in 2009, more than 2,300 proposals have been received from 28 Latin American and Caribbean nations, 53 of which have been awarded stipends.
The competition guidelines can be viewed here.
