Mexico releases final electric power market regulations

Mexico's energy ministry has published the last tranche of the electric power market regulations in coordination with the country's energy regulatory body CRE and energy control center Cenace.

The ministry has been publishing the rules governing the market at regular intervals in the official gazette since November 2015, before the wholesale power market launched in January 2016.

The final tranche of regulations refers to the import and export of electricity. Other tranches have focused on demand and supply forecasting, cost calculation, dispute resolution and transmission rights, among other themes.

CRE will be the body responsible for evaluating and making modifications to the regulations.
