Mexico's Conagua debuts new management

Blanca Jiménez (pictured), the new director of Mexico's water authority Conagua, has made new senior management appointments to strengthen the technical capacities of the institution.

The appointments were approved at a meeting of the authority's technical board, which was chaired by federal environment minister Josefa González Blanco, Conagua said in a release.

New officials include Humberto Hernández, who will serve as the new general coordinator of the national weather service (SMN); management deputy director Eduardo Seldner; water management deputy director Agustín Félix; deputy director for potable water, sewage, and sanitation Homero Encarnación; and María del Rosario Angulo, who will serve as deputy director for irrigation infrastructure.

Jiménez also appointed new directors of 10 river basin councils, the director of the authority's Tabasco state unit, and 13 managers for different Conagua departments.
