Brazil mining tax revenue up in April
Brazil's mining royalties, known as the CFEM tax, reached 158mn reais (US$45.4mn) in April, up 43.6% from 110mn reais in the same month 2015.
But compared with March royalties fell 4.82% from 166mn reais.
Royalties over the last 12 months total 1.77bn reais, according to the minerals production department (DNPM). CFEM revenue for 2015 was 1.50bn reais.
The revenue is split between producing municipalities (65%), states (23%) and the federal government (12%).
