Hecla Mining produced 975,610oz silver and 8,189oz gold at its San Sebastián mine in Mexico in Q3, down from 1.26Moz and 9,482oz respectively in Q2.

Production started at the Durango state operation in December. "Production of both silver and gold continued to be strong in the third quarter, in spite of a smaller portion of production coming from the higher-grade East Francine pit than in H1," the company said.

The mine is on track to produce 4.35Moz silver and 35,000oz gold this year.

Idaho-based Hecla plans to increase San Sebastián's mine life through exploration, CFO Lindsay Hall said in September.

Companywide production was 4.32Moz silver and 52,125oz gold, up from 2.59Moz and 43,635oz, respectively, in 3Q15. Hecla also has mines in Canada and the US.
